Welcome to Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

It's estimated that one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime and this Trust was established to help those people, their families and carers. We’re dedicated to raising awareness of mental health and removing the stigma that’s associated with it.

Within this website you will find a whole host of useful information and resources whether you are a patient, carer, commissioner, or a member of the public with an interest in mental health services.

Our sites

Our Trust has over 50 sites that range from teams in your local community, through to inpatient hospitals and residential settings.

With over 4000 dedicated staff, we’re well equipped to provide you or your loved ones with the help and support you need.

A list of all of our sites can be found here.

An award winning trust

Over the years we’ve worked hard to provide the best possible service for our patients and their carers.

We’ve won national and international awards for the care and treatment we provide throughout the Trust.

But we know there’s always room for improvement, and we’re on a mission to provide outstanding care and facilities for all our patients and their carers.

Hugh Rickards

We are a trust with a strong reputation in research, innovation and service excellence. Although we are based in Birmingham and Solihull, our desire to share good practice has seen us create links both nationally and internationally.

Our researchers are always looking for different ways of understanding mental health. For example, at a conference in Prague, the findings of one of our research projects changed the way that depression is measured in people who suffer from Huntington’s disease.
