Two further conference rooms off the Great Hall have no fixed seating, so can be set to any style. The mobile technology systems provide the same calibre of presentation as the fixed. We have data projectors and computers, overhead projectors, screens and all the standard training equipment.
Our designated 6 delegate IT training suite is a stand-alone, fully-networked environment, allowing the tutor to train on the latest software packages, with integral data projection and an interactive white board synchronised with the tutor’s PC.
Video conferencing
Video conferencing has long been used by business to overcome problems of distance. Now widely used in healthcare, Telemedicine allows staff and service users to meet remotely, saving time and effort and enabling communication in any spoken, signed or sign assisted language, (e.g. British Sign Language).
The Uffculme Centre is equipped for near perfect, real time communication with same specification remote sites. The multipoint set-up will allow up to four locations to link at one time. Our system also allows for the simultaneous transmission of still images and of multimedia presentations or slides.
e-learning suite
The Uffculme Centre's e-learning suite is equipped with 9 work stations with TV and DVD facility for research purposes which is located in the upper part of the conservatory which looks out onto the rear gardens.
Clinical Skills
The Clinical Skills facility at The Uffculme Centre is a West Midlands (South) Confederation led initiative, for all Mental Health Services in Birmingham and Solihull. It is aimed primarily at Mental Health Nursing and Allied Health Professional Students for the development of skills for practice. It is also suitable for students from other branches of Nursing, and training is advertised on the Clinical Skills Centre website at the Confederation. Any qualified Nursing or Allied Health Professional may use the Skills Centre for training and skills development.
Uffculme is also fully equipped to provide training in AVERTS (Approaches to Violence through Effective Recognition and Training for Staff).
