Filming and Photography
Our communications team will do their best to accommodate filming/photography requests. Journalists should consider however that we are one of the country’s biggest mental health trusts and we therefore receive many filming/photography requests.
When considering any request, we follow these key principles:
- Patient confidentiality is of utmost importance and written consent to filming must be always be obtained prior to any footage being taken
- Filming/photography must not interfere with the provision of patient services or the effective running of our Trust
- Patient and staff safety is paramount at all times
- Privacy of patients must be respected and their dignity preserved at all times
Before filming/photography
Details of filming/photography requests - including dates, specifications and duration - must be sent by email to the communications team .
During filming/photography
Filming/photography crews must be accompanied by a member of our Trust communications team at all times. Rigorous infection control procedures must be respected; for example, hand gel must be used on entering and leaving clinical areas. No patients or staff may be filmed/photographed without obtaining proper consent beforehand.
