Library services volunteer opportunity

Full Description:

To support the library assistant in the day to day duties of the Library enquiry desk .

To support the development of the Publications database by inputting data on articles which have been published by BSMHFT staff and classifying them according to their subject.

Working on the Library counter issuing and discharging books and helping to respond to enquiries from library users.

Processing new books (spine labelling etc).

Helping the Training librarian to prepare handouts for library training sessions.

Shelving books.

Checking references of articles published by BSMHFT staff on the Internet and inputting the details of the publications onto an Excel spreadsheet.

Indexing the articles according to agreed subject terms.

Skills / Qualifications Required:

Customer focused

Willingness to learn

Attention to detail

Good IT Skills

A demonstrable interest in library or information provision

Good communication skills

Location:

Library - The Barberry

25, Vincent Drive, Edgbaston
Birmingham, B15 2FG

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.
