Sue Davis, CBE – current chair of Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust (SWBH) – has been appointed as Chair of Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT).
Ms Davis’ appointment follows an extraordinary meeting of the trust’s Assembly of Governors, who ratified her as successor to its former chairman, Professor Peter Marquis, who retired in September.
Sue has accepted the role, which was formally approved by BSMHFT’s governors yesterday (November 14). Sue will leave her role at SWBH on November 26, and will step into her new role on November 28.
Sue Turner, our chief executive, said: “I’d like to congratulate Sue Davis on being appointed to the role of Chair for our trust today.
“She has made a sterling contribution to our close neighbours at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust, having served their board as Chair for over five years, and I look forward to working with her.”
Sue Davis said: “I am looking forward to working with everyone in the trust and its service users, once I join BSMHFT on November 28.
“I am delighted that since the trust is a full member of the Right Care, Right Here Partnership, I will still be able to work for the fruition of our ambitious long term plans for the health economy.”
