Library services launches its staff publications database.

The library service is pleased to launch its publications database – available via the trust website: http://www.bsmhft.nhs.uk/about-us/library/publications-database/ it contains details of the articles and books which staff have had published whilst working at BSMHFT.

The database has been created so that we can more easily identify our own best practice and showcase our intellectual output externally. It is fully searchable by author, subject, or keyword, it also provides a link to an abstract/summary of the content of each article. They have compiled the database by using data provided to us from the research department and the trust’s Nurse Research forum, and by conducting literature searches by author name for consultants, SPRs and psychologists. There are currently over 1,200 entries, but if you have been published, do check if anything is missed and let hjem know so that it can be included.  There is a self-submission form available on the website at: http://www.bsmhft.nhs.uk/about-us/library/forms/staff-pub/

The library would now like to move onto identifying ‘grey literature’ such as conference papers and dissertations which are notoriously difficult to find – please forward the details of any such publications to northcroft.library@bsmhft.nhs.uk so that they can be added to the database.
