Welcome to GP Matters

As the new NHS starts to take shape, so BSMHFT has begun to reorganise its services, to ensure pathways to mental health care are smoother and more direct.

Executive-directors

GPs are now very much at the heart of healthcare commissioning, controlling budgets and tailoring services to the needs of the local communities which they serve.

This month’s GP Matters highlights issues being addressed by Birmingham Healthy Minds, and an early alert to a national conference on our Rapid Assessment Interface and Discharge (RAID) service, which will be held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham on January 27, 2012.

Our trust wants to develop close, working relationships with commissioners which will be continuously informed by the views and feedback from GPs in the localities that we serve.  Therefore it is vitally important that we hear your views on what we do, how we can work together to improve our services and improve GP access to them.

GP Matters is another part of our commitment to communicate with our GP stakeholders. This e-bulletin will land in your inbox every month, with the latest news and updates relevant to you and your patients.

Please let us know what you think of these new developments, or even suggest future articles that you may want to see by emailing gpmatters@bsmhft.nhs.uk.
