Birmingham Healthy Minds: Service launches new central phone numbers

Birmingham Healthy Minds (BHM) is a new primary care mental health service that is IAPT compliant and delivered in partnership with GPs, the mental health consortium and third sector organisations. This service provides psychological therapy for adults at the earliest opportunity.

Psychological therapies are widely recognised as effective treatments for a wide range of mental health problems. Access to the right therapy at the right time can have an enormous impact on a person’s life; it can help people to better manage their condition and, in many cases, enable a full recovery.

Birmingham Healthy Minds has changed to one number 0121 301 2525.

The BHM service booklet has been revised, so please can practices ensure that all copies of the old leaflet are removed from circulation. Hard copies of the new booklet are now available and are being delivered to practices by BHM staff.

Please note that the new service booklet is for GPs to give out to patients for information about the service when they wish to refer the patient. Our booklets should not be on display in surgery waiting rooms as we are a finite resource and would like GPs and primary care staff to prioritise those patients who are most appropriate and will engage with a psychological therapies service.

We are in the process of revising our service referral template and while the option of self-referral by the new service booklet is available, we would prefer GPs to refer patients by letter, posted or faxed to their local team – see contact details below.
