Welcome to GP Matters

As the new year begins BSMHFT has a busy year ahead, strengthening our links with GP stakeholders and arranging a number of events to keep you informed of new service developments and initiatives.

GPs are now very much at the heart of healthcare commissioning, preparing to control budgets and tailoring services to the needs of the local communities which they serve.

Executive-directors

This month’s GP Matters includes updates from the Birmingham Healthy Minds team, details on improved information on the choice and medication website, a further update on the national conference on our Rapid Assessment Interface and Discharge (RAID) service which will take place at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham on January 27, 2012 and news on the appointment at BSHMFT of a dedicated GP liaison officer.

Our trust wants to develop close, working relationships with commissioners which will be continuously informed by the views and feedback from GPs in the localities that we serve. Therefore it is vitally important that we hear your views on what we do, how we can work together to improve our services and improve GP access to them.

We are committed to improve communication with our GP stakeholders. You will receive this bulletin every month, with the latest news and updates relevant to you and your patients.

Please let us know what you think of these new developments, or even suggest future articles that you may wish to include by emailing gp.matters@bsmhft.nhs.uk or julia.buckley@bsmhft.nhs.uk
