Acute/Assessment Wards

Our acute in-patient units provide assessment and treatment for short period for adults who are experiencing mental health problems.

When a person is admitted to one of our acute admission wards, they are allocated their own named worker who will work with them to put together a plan of care that meets their needs.  We provide an in-depth assessment of mental health problems...

We also conduct a full physical health check, sleep pattern and nutritional screening.  Treatment may take the form of medication, talking therapies such as counselling and group work. We also make sure that patients e have access to spiritual care and social activities. Our Occupational therapists also offer an in depth screening assessment of each individual and if appropriate develop plan around each patients occupational and daily living skills

Physiotherapists, psychiatrists and psychologists and nursing staff work regularly with people to assist in the person's assessment and plan of care.

We strive for an open culture of care which means we work hard to make sure that carers and families are involved in their relative's care and that advocacy agencies such user voice and PALS (Patients Advisory Liaison Service).
