Drug Rehabiliation Requirement (DRR)

A Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR) is a community based penalty for people who have committed high levels of crime to support their drug use. It has replaced a similar penalty called the Drug Treatment and Testing Order (DTTO).The Drug Rehabilitation Requirement Team tests and treats drug use as part of this sentence from the court.

The team provides:

  • Assessment of drug use, mental and physical health
  • Medical treatments to reduce drug use
  • Group support sessions
  • Counselling
  • Acupuncture
  • Meditation and relaxation techniques
  • Advice on employment and education
  • Advocacy

The team works closely with the National Probation Service to make sure that the order is enforced.
