Filming and photography

We will always do our best to accommodate filming or photography from journalists and production companies . But please remember that we are one of the country’s biggest mental health trusts and we therefore receive many filming and photography requests.

When considering any request, we always consider the following:

  • patient confidentiality is of utmost importance and written consent to filming must be always be obtained prior to any footage being taken,
  • filming/photography must not interfere with the provision of patient services or the effective running of our trust,
  • patient and staff safety is paramount at all times and
  • privacy of patients must be respected and their dignity preserved at all times.

Details of filming/photography requests - including dates, specifications and duration - must be sent by email to the communications team.

Filming/photography crews must be accompanied by a member of our Trust communications team at all times. Rigorous infection control procedures must be respected; for example, hand gel must be used on entering and leaving clinical areas. No patients or staff may be filmed or photographed without obtaining proper consent beforehand.
