Estates and Facilities team ‘cleans up’ at national awards

Published: 22/05/2018

Our Estates and Faci;ituies team were awarded for their outstanding people development strategies at this year’s national Health Estates and Facilities Management Awards.

The team won in the People Development category at this year’s awards ceremony held at Cotswold Park.

They were recognised for developing their workforce to embrace the challenges of providing support services within an NHS Mental Health environment. They created an in-house Training Hub at the Trust’s Barberry site in Edgbaston to deliver courses including cleaning science, food hygiene and health and safety.

The Training Hub opened in May 2017 and it has been rated as excellent by both external inspectors and Trust teams. They have described it as a unique model that demonstrates best practice within a very limited budget.

Neil Hathaway, Associate Director, Estates and Facilities, said: “We are delighted to have won this national award.

“We always strive to provide the best environment we can for service users, carers and staff. Training Hub been a great success and continues to have a positive impact across the Trust.”

The Estates and Facilities team are also finalists in this year’s Health Service Journal Value Awards in June.
