Speaking about her appointment, Roisin said:
“I am excited that my career in the NHS is going to continue at Birmingham and Solihull. There are great things going on in the Trust and I look forward to joining and supporting everyone in the team that is BSMHFT, to take the Trust services forward and reach new heights.
“The health and care organisations in Birmingham and Solihull have forged good relationships and have a well-established vision for working together to do their best for local people. I am very pleased to be joining other local leaders in this partnership.”
Sue Davis, Chair of BSMHFT, said:“I am delighted that we will be welcoming Roisin to team BSMHFT. In her last role, and in interview, Roisin demonstrated an absolute focus on the link between staff engagement and quality services. I believe her experience and her leadership approach are well suited to leading us to tackle the challenges and grasp the opportunities we are currently facing.”
Roisin will take over the reins from John Short, who in August announced that he will retire at the end of March after six years as Chief Executive.
