National industrial action - Information for service users and carers

Following a recent ballot of its members, Wednesday November 30, 2011 has been chosen by a number of trade unions in the public sector as a day of national industrial action.

The purpose of the one day of action is to protest against the government’s national plans for public sector pensions.
A number of our staff have made the decision to take part in the day of industrial action.  As such we would ask you to please bear with us if services are slightly disrupted or delayed.

However, for everyone who works in the trust, the care and safety of our service users is the most important thing to us.  As such we have made the necessary arrangements in conjunction with our trade unions to ensure that our essential services are adequately covered and will continue as normal.

If there is likely to be significant disruption to any non-essential care you were due to receive from us on November 30, 2011, we will have contacted you well  in advance, so please unless otherwise requested, assume your appointment/treatment with us is still going ahead as planned.

If you have any questions about the industrial action please ask a member of staff or contact PALS on 0800 953 0045.
