Team BSMHFT raring to go in this year’s BUPA Great Birmingham Run

Staff from Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) will be taking part in this year’s BUPA Great Birmingham Run to raise money for the Trust’s re-launched charity, ‘Caring Minds’.

¬Team BSMHFT, which includes Chief Executive of the Trust, John Short, will line up alongside thousands of runners for the 13-mile route around Birmingham on October 20, and there is still plenty of time for you to donate.

The Trust’s newly re-launched charity, ‘Caring Minds’, helps to provide the extras that normal NHS funding doesn’t provide, significantly improving the experience of the people who use the Trust’s services.

Now in its third year, the BUPA Great Birmingham Run is the biggest half marathon in the Midlands, and this year’s will be the biggest yet with up to 20,000 people taking part this Sunday.

John Short said: “Team BSMHFT are raring to go for the BUPA Great Birmingham Run 2013. There are 17 of us running in aid of our Trust charity and to raise awareness about the importance of mental health wellbeing. It promises to be a fabulous day.”
