BME mental health services guidance set to launch

Published: 25/06/2014

Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust are co-hosting an event with the Birmingham Mental Health Joint Commissioning team to launch the guidance for commissioners of mental health services for people from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities.

Last year, the Joint Commissioning team commissioned Professor Sashidharan and Professor Kamaldeep Bhui to produce this guidance to best describe what good mental health services for BME groups look like.

You are invited to the national launch of this guidance on Friday, July 4 at the Botanical Gardens, Westbourne Road, Birmingham, B15 3TR.

Speakers will include John Short, Chief Executive, Dr Neil Deuchar, co-chair of the Joint Commissioning Panel for Mental Health, Professor Sashidharan, co-author of the guidance and Councillor Paulette Hamilton, Birmingham City Council mental health champion.

If you are interested in attending, please send your RSVP to Jacqueline.tame@bsmhft.nhs.uk, or call 0121 301 1060.
