'All of Me' free life story production at the Mac

Published: 02/03/2015

BSMHFT and Women & Theatre have joined forces to develop a new performance workshop based on life stories shared by some of our service users in older people’s services and uses theatre, music and discussion to highlight the benefits that remembering together makes to the here and now.

‘All of Me’ uses the principles of Life Story Work, which is a biographical approach that gives people the opportunity to talk about their life experience and records relevant aspects of a person’s past and present life to benefit them in their present situation. Last year, Rob Grady, an occupational therapy technical instructor at our Trust was awarded the Ken Holt Memorial Award for his Life Story Work in the National Dementia Care Awards.

The ‘All of Me’ performances are on:

  • Wednesday 11 March 2015 at 11am and 3pm at the Midlands Art Centre, Foyle Studio
  • Thursday 12 March 2015 11am, 3pm and 7pm at the Midlands Arts Centre, Foyle Studio

This performance is open to staff, service users, families, friends and the general public. Each performance is free but you need to obtain tickets from the MAC box office by calling 0121 446 3232 or visiting http://macbirmingham.co.uk/event/all-of-me/.
