Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust holds its annual community engagement family fun day in Edgbaston.

The event takes place between 12pm and 5pm on Saturday 21 May at the Trust’s Oleaster Site, at 6 Mindelsohn Crescent, B15 2SY, where there will be a host of activities available, including a children’s corner, a refreshment barbeque, market place and information stalls and not forgetting the live performances.

There will be a selection of live music including reggae band, One Love, a disco and R & B from 3rd Dimension, pop and indie from Contact, Scottish pipers and the Wellbeing choir.

This event is also a great opportunity to find out more about the work of the Trust and its partners. One of the series of family fun day events has also been recognised with an equality award by Sandwell and West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group.

Lakhvir Rellon, Head of Community Engagement at the Trust said: “Our award winning engagement days are an opportunity for people of all walks of life to join us, for a fun packed day and at the same time learn more about mental health and the support services available. We look forward to welcoming everyone to what promises to be a great day.”

The family fun days attract hundreds of people and help the Trust to challenge the stigma associated with mental health, by reaching out to and involving local communities across Birmingham and Solihull and strengthening our relationships with them.

Admission is free and hot food (including halal) and refreshments will be available to purchase on the day.

The Trust will be holding four more family fun days this summer in Erdington, Solihull, Winson Green and Sparkhill.
