Our Trust is offering a two full day course in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). It is a skills development programme for anyone over the age of 16 wanting to effectively recognise and support a person who may be developing a mental health issue. In the same way we learn physical first aid, this course teaches you how to identify the crucial warning signs of mental ill health.

An MHFA course will teach you to:

  •     Spot the early signs of a mental health problem.
  •     Feel confident helping someone experiencing a problem.
  •     Provide help on a first aid basis.
  •     Help prevent someone from hurting themselves or others.
  •     Help stop a mental illness from getting worse.
  •     Help someone recover faster.
  •     Guide someone towards the right support.
  •     Reduce the stigma of mental health problems

The course will take place on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 April 2016. The training is free for all service users and carers. If you are interested please contact:
