Trust election for three Governor posts

Published: 11/02/2016

Our Trust is holding an election for three Governor posts and the deadline for any applications is Monday 29 February 2016.

As a Foundation Trust, our Governors play an integral role in the running of our Trust. We have 21 Governors that represent a variety of areas; service users, carers, public, stakeholder organisations and staff.

The posts that are vacant are:

•    Carer Governor – 1 post
•    Public Governor Rest of England and Wales – 1 post
•    Service User Governor Rest of England and Wales – 1 post

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in the future of local mental health services to become involved. The Council of Governors is consulted on any plans for changes to the way local health mental services are delivered and are responsible for appointing the Trust Chair, Chief Executive and Non-Executive Directors. Governors are accountable to the members who elect them and form a vital link to the communities that the Trust serves including service users and carers.

The successful candidate will join the Council of Governors at meetings and will play an important part in the life of the Trust. If you are interested in the role, you are invited to stand for election and request a nomination.

For a nomination pack or for any enquiries, please contact Daniel Conway, Board Support Officer on 0121 301 1096, or by emailing daniel.conway@bsmhft.nhs.uk.
