Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Community Fun Days return in 2017 with the second event to be held in Solihull.
The second of a series of community fun days will take place between 12pm and 5pm on Saturday 24 June, at St. Mary's Church, Hobs Meadow, Solihull B92 8PN. There will be a host of exciting activities available including fun and games for all the family, interactive and creative workshops, a market place, information stalls, a refreshment barbeque and not forgetting the live performances.
This event also celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the consecration of St. Mary’s Church in 1967 and, to mark this, the fun day will be opened at 12pm by the Rt. Revd Anne Hollinghurst, Bishop of Aston.
There will be a selection of live music including reggae band, One Love, and the Northfield Caledonia Pipes and Drums, along with interactive health and wellbeing games such as giant operation, beat the bleep and world cup shoot out.
These events provide a great opportunity to not only find out about the work of Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and their partners, but to also help challenge the stigma associated with mental health.
The Community Fun Days are now in their fifth year attracting hundreds of people from across communities in Birmingham and Solihull to come together. Admission is free with a range of hot food (including halal) and refreshments from the Trust Catering Department available to purchase on the day.
Beresford Dawkins, Community Development Manager, said "Our community fun days are an opportunity for people of all walks of life to join us for a fun packed day, and to find out more about mental health and the support services that are available. We look forward to welcoming everyone to what promises to be a great day."
