Election for a Birmingham Service User Governor

Published: 28/02/2017

Our Trust is holding an election for a Birmingham Service User Governor post and the deadline for any applications is not later than 4pm on Thursday 16 March 2017.

As a foundation trust, our governors play an integral role in the running of our Trust. We have 21 governors that represent a variety of areas; service users, carers, public, stakeholder organisations and staff.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in the future of local mental health services to become involved. The Council of Governors are consulted on any plans for changes to the way local health mental services are delivered and are responsible for appointing the Trust Chair, Chief Executive and Non-Executive Directors. Governors are accountable to the members who elect them and form a vital link to the communities that the Trust serves including service users and carers.

The successful candidate will join the Council of Governors at meetings and will play an important part in the life of the Trust. If you are interested in the role, you are invited to stand for election and request a nomination.

The election day will take place on Thursday 27 April 2017.

For a nomination pack or for any enquiries, please contact Daniel Conway, Board Support Officer on 0121 301 1096, or by emailing daniel.conway@bsmhft.nhs.uk.
