Solihull Gardens Are Gleaming

Published: 23/11/2017

Two gardens at mental health sites in Solihull have had a makeover thanks to our charity, Caring Minds, and Lloyds Banking Group.

Last month at David Bromley House, work went into refurbishing a relaxing summer house and constructing a practical metal storage shed. At Hertford House in the summer, a garden renovation was finished off with a refurbished shed and new flower baskets.

New materials for the makeover were provided by Caring Minds. Volunteers from Lloyds Banking Group provided the hands on support as part of their volunteering programme, where colleagues are invited to use at least one working day, or eight hours, a year helping support their local community.

Neil Edwards, Acting Ward Manager at David Bromley House, said: “Thanks to Caring Minds and Lloyds Banking Group, the summer house will be a peaceful place for patients to sit, reflect, pray, meditate or just find solace.”

Mike Songer, Mortgage Director for Lloyds Bank said: “We were thrilled to use our volunteering day to support local people and help our community thrive. It was a great opportunity for us to see all of the hard work that goes on.”

“Within Lloyds Banking Group, we’ve been working hard to help millions of people with their mental health and financial well-being through our partnership with Mental Health UK, but seeing some of the support being provided in our communities was a real privilege.”
