Calling All Budding Photographers! Photography Competition for World Mental Health Day

Published: 14/08/2017

Our service users, staff, members, and families and carers are invited to participate in an exciting photography competition to celebrate World Mental Health Day on Tuesday 10 October 2017. This year’s theme is ‘Mental Health in the Workplace’. Participants can submit photos based on this theme, which can also include volunteering, carer roles, career goals and aspirations for the future.

The judges – including the Trust’s Chief Executive, John Short - will choose 10 winning photographs, which will be printed and displayed in a ‘roaming gallery’ that will tour Trust locations. The prints will also be displayed at the Rep Theatre as part of their Wellbeing Discovery Day on Sunday 22 October. Free tickets for this can be booked here.

Photos can be taken on any device, from a camera to a smartphone or a tablet. For those without a device that can take photos, we have 30 disposable cameras available on a first-come first-served basis - please contact rebkean@nhs.net about this.

The project follows on from SIFA Fireside’s successful ‘Street Spirit’ photography project last year, where SIFA Fireside clients took photographs that captured life on the streets.

Entries are now open! Please email your photos to rebkean@nhs.net, or please post entries to (with a note enclosed stating it's for the photography competition):
