For the first time, the West Midlands Combined Authority's (WMCA) Mental Health Commission are holding The Thrive Mental Health Commission Awards, to celebrate the ground breaking work being done across the region to improve mental health and wellbeing.
The WMCA is asking people across the West Midlands to nominate their ‘Mental Health Stars’ – the people that are making a difference in mental health, whether that’s a difference to one person or across a whole community. You can nominate anyone for a Mental Health Star award – a friend or relative, carer or colleague, a mental health nurse or social worker.
The WMCA want to celebrate the amazing people across the West Midlands who are making a real difference in mental health, whether it’s the friend that helped you through a difficult period, the GP who always takes the time to talk, or the volunteer who gives up their evenings to provide support to vulnerable people in their community.
Nominations can be made online at by clicking here and will close at 9am on Monday 8 January 2018.
The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 31 January 2018 at The Hawthorns (West Bromwich Albion Football Club) and will be a gala event with food, entertainment and music.
