Governor constituencies

Governors provide a vital link between the local community, staff, users, carers, partner organisations and the board of directors.

Part of their role is to ensure the views of service users, carers, stakeholders and local communities are taken into account when plans for services are being drawn up.

Governors help set the strategic direction of the trust by providing views to the board of directors about what sort of organisation the trust should be and what services it should provide.

They are also ambassadors for the trust who champion initiatives to tackle the stigma associated with mental health.

Governors are also expected to maintain regular contact with members within their constituency.
