Today marks the sixth annual Mental Health Nurses’ Day.

We would like to give a huge shoutout to the incredible 1,389 mental health nurses that make up Team BSMHFT.

Mental health nurses are a group of healthcare professionals that have a unique influence on the people they care for. Across our Trust, there are specialists in areas such as eating disorders, psychosis, personality disorders, drug and alcohol addiction, depression and anxiety, dementia, obsessive compulsive disorders and much more.

Mental health nurses promote and support a person’s recovery, helping them to live independent and fulfilling lives.

The purpose of Mental Health Nurses’ Day is to celebrate the work of mental health nurses, and to promote working in mental health as a fantastic career choice for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Can you think of a mental health nurse who deserves a shoutout? Let us know in the comments down below, or why not nominate them in this year’s Values Awards! Hurry, nominations end midnight 25 February (this Sunday).
