We are starting the week by shining a light on Zahra Hussain, Learning and Organisational Development Business Support Officer, who was nominated by Shelly Cubbin for Women’s History Month.

Shelly said:

“I’m nominating Zahra because of how fantastic she is! She always has time for colleagues no matter how busy she is; she will find a way to help, whether this is ICT related, informal supervision or simply a chat about you not being able to sleep. If she doesn’t know how to resolve a problem, she will signpost but also try to find out the answer herself as she wants to have the knowledge to help next time. She is always smiling and positive; she is the ray of sunshine needed on a cloudy day!”

Zahra was asked what this nomination meant to her and what equality, diversity and inclusion means to her. Zahra said:

“Thank you to my nominator, it was a lovely surprise! My role in the Trust is the Learning and Organisational Development Business Support Officer and I am a part of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Organisational Development (OD) team.

I am constantly inspired by all the women in my life. Especially my mom and big sister who have shaped me into the person I am today. A special little shoutout to my boss and the women in my team, who I’m always learning from and who are always pushing me to do my best!

Equality, diversity, and inclusion is something that is important to me, in my work and everyday life. We all have differences which should be recognised, embraced, and celebrated!”
