As temperatures continue to rise, we’re taking practical steps to support colleagues and service users across Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Hot weather can affect mood, concentration and emotional resilience, particularly in healthcare settings. That’s why we’re encouraging colleagues to stay hydrated, pace themselves where possible, look out for one another and seek support early if needed.
We’re also providing cold drinks, ice creams and additional supplies of cold drinking water across our inpatient wards, while ward-based colleagues can temporarily wear shorts and plain T-shirts to help stay comfortable during this period of hot weather.
A huge thank you to all our colleagues for the compassion, professionalism and dedication they show every day. Supporting the wellbeing of our workforce is essential to delivering high-quality care for the communities we serve.
