Nearly 300 people came together at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust’s (BSMHFT) Maple Leaf site on Saturday 11 July for the third Feel the Rhythm, Beat the Stigma event.

The community celebration brought people together through music, creativity and conversation, creating a welcoming and inclusive space where attendees could connect with others and talk openly about mental health and wellbeing.

The event featured live performances, interactive activities and opportunities for local people to learn more about the support available in their communities. Colleagues from across the Trust were joined by voluntary and community sector partners to showcase a range of services designed to help people access the right support at the right time.

Teams from neighbourhood-based mental health services were on hand throughout the day, highlighting how integrated working between health, social care and community organisations is helping to strengthen local connections and deliver more responsive, person-centred care.

Feel the Rhythm, Beat the Stigma has become a popular community event, bringing people together to celebrate diversity, promote wellbeing and challenge the stigma that can still surround mental health.

The final event in this year’s series will take place on Saturday 25 July at Small Heath Health Centre. The event will be attended by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Zafar Iqbal, who also joined the celebrations at the previous event held at Endeavour Court.

Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy an afternoon of music, entertainment and community spirit while finding out more about local mental health and wellbeing support available across Birmingham and Solihull.
