On Saturday 26 July 2025, we hosted a vibrant summertime picnic in the beautiful grounds of the Uffculme Centre, generously funded by the Trust’s charity, Caring Minds.

The Main Hall, Lower Conservatory and surrounding gardens were adorned with colourful bunting and decorations, setting a cheerful tone for the day.

Approximately 60 attendees joined us, including staff, service users, family members – and even a friendly pet dog named Pepper. Thankfully, the weather was on our side, with sunshine providing a perfect backdrop for the day’s activities.

The grounds were set up with plenty of seating and picnic blankets, creating a welcoming space for all. A variety of games were available, and a dedicated quiet room offered a chance to try Diamond Art, games and providing a relaxing and creative alternative for those who preferred a calmer environment.

The Recovery College team hosted a successful plant sale and raffle, raising £61 in support of the Seeds of Hope initiative. This project involves service users in cultivating plants and vegetables in the Uffculme allotment and polytunnel, promoting wellbeing through horticulture.

In addition, the Uffculme Operations team ran a popular tombola stall, which raised £60.50 for the Caring Minds charity. The community spirit was evident and we are proud of the generosity and enthusiasm shown throughout the day.

There was a  delicious picnic lunch featuring sandwiches, crisps, cakes and drinks, along with complimentary ice cream for everyone.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making the day such a success. Special thanks to all staff, volunteers and supporters who helped bring this event to life. We look forward to more joyful Caring Mind’s events in the future.
