Trans awareness Training

The Trust have teamed up with the Birmingham LGBT Centre to deliver Trans Awareness Training to our colleagues. The training will be delivered by the Strategic Development Officer (Trans Inclusion Project) from Birmingham LGBT Centre. You can, find out more information about Birmingham LGBT here: Birmingham LGBT (blgbt.org)

The training will provide learners with:

  • An understanding of the correct terminology used to refer to transgender people and the importance of pronouns.
  • An increased awareness of transgender matters.
  • An increased cultural competency, to allow learners to better understand and communicate with transgender service users and colleagues.
  • An overview of their responsibilities towards trans co-workers and service users as mandated by law, including the Gender Recognition Act.

LGBTQ Awareness Training

As part of the Trust’s No Hate Zone and intolerance of prejudice towards LGBTQ+ people, we are offering LGBTQ+ Awareness Training to all staff.
