The Ardenleigh Angels, a choir comprised of female service users located at our secure mental health facility, Ardenleigh, have released their cover of ‘Lean on Me’ in memory of a service user who passed away.

The choir was set up for all service users and staff to connect through their love of singing, helping to boost service users’ confidence and strengthen positive relationships between each other. Their singing can often be heard throughout the halls, spreading joy to all who hear.

The women chose this specific song as it best represented an important message that they wanted to share – reach out for support as you can always find help when you need it.

Singing this song helped the choir to remember the service user and it was a chance to express their sadness and grief together, knowing that they were not alone.

Ardenleigh is a women’s secure mental health hospital for people with mental health conditions who require treatment within an inpatient setting. Service users receive a range of treatments from a wide range of professionals including psychiatrists, psychologists, creative arts therapists, occupational therapists, medics, nursing staff and social workers.
