More than 150 people gathered at the Opal Suite in Smethwick on Saturday 3 October for the annual Celebrating Cultures Fundraiser 2026, raising just under£2,300 for Caring Minds, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Charity.
The event welcomed people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds to celebrate the diversity that makes our communities stronger. Guests enjoyed an evening of food, entertainment, music and dancing while sharing stories, traditions and experiences from across the world.
The fundraiser reflected the event’s aim of bringing people together, celebrating diversity and supporting mental health. Throughout the evening, attendees embraced the opportunity to learn from one another, make new connections and showcase the rich cultural heritage within our communities.
One attendee summed up the spirit of the evening, saying: “The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people.”
Funds raised from the event will help Caring Minds continue supporting projects and initiatives that enhance the wellbeing of patients, service users and colleagues across the Trust.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered and supported the event. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped make the evening a fantastic celebration of culture, inclusion and community, while raising valuable funds for a great cause.
