Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) welcomed colleagues, partners, service users and members of the public to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Annual Members’ Meeting, which took place on Tuesday 23 September.

From start to finish, the day was filled with energy, insight and connection. Guests explored information stalls and the transformation zone, where key priorities such as digital innovation, community mental health services and equality, diversity and inclusion were showcased.
The Wellbeing Zone proved a highlight, offering yoga, seated exercises and a drum circle – with thanks to BSMHFT staff Maddy Parkes, Jane Jennings and Chekaine Steele for leading these engaging sessions.

We were honoured to welcome Sophia Badhan, award-winning mental health campaigner and speaker, who shared an inspiring and powerful account of her lived experience.
The formal AGM and Members’ Meeting followed where we also gave an overview of finance and quality within the Trust and highlighted the achievements of the last year. Afterwards, attendees enjoyed another chance to browse stalls and rounded off the afternoon with an interactive workshop delivered by Women and Theatre.
Roísìn Fallon-Williams, Chief Executive, said:
Those of us who were able to be there will attest that it was well-attended with a warm buzz of constructive conversation throughout the day. There really was a tangible level of good energy and sense of both celebration and continued commitment to make the improvements we need to. I must say a very big thank you to all who contributed and were involved in making the day such a success.”
