More than 1,000 people attended this year’s Feel the Rhythm, Beat the Stigma events, creating opportunities for communities across Birmingham and Solihull to come together, improve wellbeing and challenge mental health stigma.

The final event in the series took place at Small Heath Health Centre on 24 July, bringing a successful programme of community engagement activities to a close.

Across four events, local residents, community groups, service users and families enjoyed a range of activities centred around music, creativity and connection. The events provided welcoming and inclusive spaces where people could share experiences, learn more about mental health and take part in conversations aimed at reducing stigma.

The Feel the Rhythm, Beat the Stigma programme highlighted the important role that community connections play in supporting positive mental health and wellbeing. By bringing people together in a relaxed and engaging environment, the events encouraged open discussions and helped raise awareness of the support available across local services.

Colleagues from across the Trust attended each event, speaking with members of the public, sharing information about mental health services and highlighting opportunities for people to get involved in shaping and supporting their local communities.

The success of the events reflects the enthusiasm of communities across Birmingham and Solihull to engage in conversations about mental health and support one another’s wellbeing.

A special thank you goes to the Community Engagement Team, and everyone involved in organising and delivering the events. Their hard work, dedication and collaboration helped make the programme a resounding success and ensured a positive experience for all who attended.

As the Trust continues its work to reduce stigma and improve mental health awareness, initiatives such as Feel the Rhythm, Beat the Stigma demonstrate the value of creating opportunities for connection, conversation and community participation.
