This Christmas Day, a number of Solihull Integrated Addiction Service (SIAS) volunteers brought festive cheer to the community by hosting a Christmas dinner at the Welcome Change Community Centre in Shard End.
Around 40 service users and local residents, who might otherwise have spent the day alone, enjoyed a warm meal, games, and festive activities. Transport was also provided to help those struggling to attend.
The event was organised by the SIAS team, who worked with volunteers to cook, serve, and share the Christmas lunch with attendees. Thanks to generous support from True North Service Management Solutions and other donors who contributed food and gifts, the team was able to provide a memorable and joyful experience for everyone present.
The day highlighted the importance of giving and connecting with the community during the festive season.
Our SIAS service, commissioned by Solihull Council, provides free and confidential treatment and support for anyone struggling with alcohol or drug misuse in the borough. The service also supports families and children affected by someone else’s addiction.
For more information call the SIAS confidential helpline on 0121 301 4141 to speak to a team member or visit the SIAS website.
