More than 300 staff came together to celebrate the 2025 BSMHFT Values Awards – the Trust’s most anticipated annual event.

This year’s ceremony recognised the dedication and achievements of our colleagues, with a record 450 nominations submitted in 10 award categories. Thirty individuals and teams were honoured on the night, selected by judges for their exceptional contributions to patient/service user care, teamwork and innovation.

The annual awards celebrate staff who exemplify the Trust Values and who have made a lasting impact on service users, carers and colleagues. Categories included Committed, Inclusive, Compassionate, Quality Improvement, Rising Star and Team of the Year.

Hosted at Villa Park, the ceremony provided an opportunity to reflect on a year of progress, resilience and success across the organisation. By recognising both clinical and non-clinical teams, the evening highlighted the wide range of work taking place to improve mental health services across Birmingham and Solihull.

The event was made possible thanks to the generous support of sponsors SSL, whose partnership helped ensure the evening was a fitting tribute to the work of BSMHFT staff.

While the night focused on celebrating 30 winners, the Trust also paid tribute to its 4,000-strong workforce, acknowledging the vital role each colleague plays in supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our communities every day.

Reflecting on the event, Roísìn Fallon-Williams, Chief Executive of BSMHFT, said:

“The Values Awards are a powerful reminder of the compassionate, committed, and inclusive work happening right across our Trust. It’s a chance to pause, to celebrate the people who make a difference every day, and to recognise the outstanding dedication that runs through everything we do.”

Fellow event host and Trust Chair, Phil Gayle, added:

“It was a joy to be part of such a heartfelt celebration. The stories we heard throughout the night were genuinely moving – each one showing the care, creativity and impact that colleagues bring to their roles. Whether or not people made it to the stage, everyone who was nominated has made a difference.”

The full list of gold, silver and bronze award winners is available on the Values Awards page and includes videos of all of those who were shortlisted and an awards highlights video.

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and nominees.
