Gold: Jayne Conway
Nominated not once, but three times, Jayne Conway has been described as the “backbone of Tamarind hospital”. Jayne is Ward Admin for Sycamore but goes above and beyond this role. Never one to complain, Jayne gets stuck in to help the whole hospital, all with a smile on her face.
For many years, Jayne had committed to putting together Christmas hampers and ward decorations to bring a bit of festive cheer to those who are working over the period or are without their loved ones. It isn’t just Christmas she supports with; all Tamarind events have a helpful hand from Jayne.
Nothing is ever too difficult for her, she will always find a way to make something happen, even if that means going the extra mile.
Silver: Vanessa Katri
Vanessa is Matron at Reaside and has shown her commitment to her patients over her career at the Trust for 14 years. Nothing is too much for Vanessa regardless of if you are having a personal or work-related issue, her door is always open.
Vanessa’s commitment to the Trust and others is evident by the great feedback she receives. She shows resilience during difficult times and works incredibly hard to adapt to the priority challenges of the day, whilst remaining calm and professional.
She isn’t afraid to challenge bad practice, Vanessa leads by example, staff members look up her and respect her kind and compassionate ways.
Bronze: Dr Leah Marriner
Dr Leah Mariner is a Clinical Psychologist based within Solihull’s Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) Psychological Services. Leah has worked as part of the team for around three years now, starting as a newly qualified clinician.
Throughout her career at the Trust, Leah has shown remarkable commitment to service users and the teams she works with. Leah has shown creativity and resilience in her work, despite at times supporting service users with very complex cases.
One of the areas that Leah has excelled in is her capacity to support and inspire other team members who are earlier in their career journeys. She has worked hard to support a number of Assistant Psychologists, offering them many shadowing opportunities, listening to their recorded sessions and providing detailed feedback.
