Community Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Service

The Community DBT Service is based at Thomas Telford House, Ardenleigh and offers an evidence based and high intensive dialectical behaviour therapy for Adults and CAHMS patients who are presenting with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder.

Individuals that are actively suicidal/engaging in deliberate self-harm in Birmingham and Solihull can be referred.

How we can help

This intervention includes both individual therapy which helps to teach individuals the skills to help manage emotions in relation to:

  • Mindfulness
  • Emotion Regulation
  • Distress Tolerance
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness

Please note that all clients referred to DBT should be on full Care Programme Approach and have an allocated care coordinator. For CAMHS referrals a nominated key worker should be identified. Referrals will be screened for suitability and if accepted clients are required to attend an assessment before acceptance into the service.
