The Cultural Competency QI Project team was nominated for their groundbreaking initiative to reduce culture-based health inequalities in clinical care. Through tools like a Cultural Competency digital hub, co-produced Communication Passport and e-learning modules, they’ve empowered staff to provide more inclusive, person-centred care, transforming clinical practice across the Trust.

The International Medical Graduates (IMG) QI Project team was nominated for their compassionate and innovative efforts to improve the experience of IMGs at the Trust. Through co-produced changes like peer support spaces, digital platforms and the upcoming IMG Connect page, they’ve helped IMGs feel more confident, connected and supported, ensuring long-term improvements for current and future staff.

Professor Hugh Rickards was nominated for his exceptional leadership in Huntington’s Disease (HD) research. As a global pioneer, he has led over 26 major research projects, integrated clinical trials into everyday care and built Birmingham into a renowned HD research hub. His compassionate, patient-centred approach and dedication to mentoring the next generation have made a lasting impact in the field.
