Non-acute inpatient services (NAIPS) - community rehabilitation units

This service is  for adults (aged 25+ in Birmingham and 16+ in Solihull) with a treatment-resistant, serious and enduring mental illness such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar affective disorder or other psychoses.

 

NAIPS

The service is for service users who:

  • Are on enhanced CPA
  • Have a history of failed interventions and are unable to function independently in the community
  • Have problematic engagement with services and treatments
  • Have persistent treatment resistant symptoms
  • Have poor social and coping skills
  • Have problematic co-morbid substance misuse
  • Are expected to benefit from residential rehabilitation and be ready to move on within 18 months

 

The service takes referrals from assertive outreach teams, community rehabilitation and recovery teams, community mental health teams, acute In-patient services and other NAIPS.
