We were pleased to welcome senior NHS and mental health leaders to our East 24/7 Neighbourhood Mental Health Centre in Small Heath on Wednesday 15 April.
Roísìn Fallon-Williams, Chief Executive hosted the visit, which included Dr Penny Dash, Chair of NHS England; Sir Ciarán Devane, Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation; Lord Victor Adebowale CBE, Chair of the NHS Confederation; Dr Nick Broughton, NHS England National Director for Mental Health and Learning Disabilities; and Dr Lade Smith, Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase how our East 24/7 service is transforming the way we support people in mental health crisis – offering timely, compassionate, and community‑based care, closer to home.
Guests met staff and heard first‑hand how this new model is helping people access support earlier, reduce pressure on emergency services, and improve experiences and outcomes for local residents.
Roisin said:
Our East 24/7 centre is a powerful example of how working differently – alongside communities and partners – can make a real difference. It was a privilege to share the impact this service is already having with national leaders.”
The Trust would like to thank Anna Sykes, Akilah Duffus, Matt Stafford and Sel Vincent for their hard work in ensuring the visit ran smoothly and for helping to clearly demonstrate the positive difference this service is making for people in our local community.
