The Trust’s Pre-registration Clinical Education team has won a prestigious Nursing Times Award for its Applying Theory and Practice Pathway (ATAPP), in the Student Placement of the Year: Hospital category.

The award was presented in London on Friday 24 April and recognises the team’s innovative, student-centred approach to mental health nursing education. Selected from more than 600 national entries, the win highlights the significant impact of their work on a national scale.

The achievement reflects the dedication of team manager Raksana Begum and colleagues Kiera Huckerby, Stacey Newman, Pamela Wilkie, Danial Opara and Emily Mackenzie Greive, whose collaboration has been central to the success of ATAPP.

The pathway was praised for its creative approach to bridging theory and practice, including the use of co-produced vignettes and interactive learning tools to support student development.

This national recognition celebrates the team’s commitment to high-quality education and their contribution to developing the next generation of mental health nurses.

The Trust extends its congratulations and thanks to the team for this outstanding achievement.
