Main House has become the new home for three local mental health services, marking a major step forward in the delivery of community mental health care in south Birmingham.

The fully redeveloped site on Hollymoor Way, B31 5HE, next to Hillis Lodge, welcomes the Yewcroft Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT), the South Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams (NMHT) – both part of the Integrated Community Care and Recovery Service (ICCR) – and the Forensic Interface Recovery Support Team (FIRST).

The move brings all three services into modern, purpose-designed facilities created to better support service users, carers, families and staff. The new building has been carefully redesigned to provide a brighter, more accessible and welcoming environment, featuring spacious clinic rooms, improved waiting areas and a calming sensory garden.

For the Yewcroft CMHT and South NMHT teams, the relocation brings increased space and more parking spaces for staff and service users.

Tim Newbold, Head of Service for Community Services in ICCR said:

“This is a really positive milestone for our services and for the people we support. Main House has been designed with wellbeing, dignity and accessibility at its heart, giving our teams the space and facilities they need to deliver the best possible care.

“Bringing these services together into a modern, purpose-designed environment will make a huge difference for staff, service users and carers alike, while also helping us meet the growing demand for community mental health support across south Birmingham.”

Leaders say the transition provides the space and facilities needed to continue delivering safe, compassionate and effective care, while also creating room for services to grow in the future.

Despite the change in location, service users will continue to receive support from the same teams they know and trust. Any changes to appointments or arrangements will be communicated well in advance.

The Trust is encouraging service users, carers and families to keep checking this page for updates and new information as services settle into their new home.
