93.5FM What Shape Are You In? Radio Show

Weekly community radio programme on mental health related topics

In May 2016 the Trust launched “What Shape Are You In?” a weekly one hour live radio broadcast programme in partner with Unity FM. The programme initially started as a result of identified needs for further development of community engagement and mental health awareness outreach work in the local Sparkhill and Sparkbrook constituency. Local radio station Unity FM initially offered the Community Engagement Department the opportunity to promote mental health awareness for a six week period on their station; due to popularity and demand this was subsequently extended and the show is now a regular broadcast.

The aims and objectives of this work is to utilise local radio networks to raise mental health awareness in local communities providing them with access to mental health and wellbeing information, and signposting opportunities. Various internal and external departments, staff and associated professionals who provide, use, and work in mental services are invited to use such a platform to take part in live or pre-recorded radio interviews showcasing the diverse and varied skills and services within a secondary mental health care provision

Broadcasting to over 11,000 people, “What shape are you in” is now a well-established radio and media broadcast that is designed to promote mental health awareness within local communities. Colleagues and professionals from a diverse range of services share their knowledge expertise in mental and health and wellbeing.

Tune In – The show runs every Wednesday at 4pm – 5pm on 93.5FM.
